AiFactory challenge #14: Digital Paper!

Hello there! Today I am showcasing digital paper that you can find at AiFactory! They have a bunch of new paper to choose from! It's amazing!!!! And so nice to work with!!!!!

When I saw this paper, called Simply Damask and can be found HERE., I instantly thought wedding. My sister Thera, (pronounced Tara), is getting married next year, and her new name will start w/ "R". Won't this be a pretty card for her? I made the toole (sp?) into a kind of veil over the vintage heart that I found in my vintage stockpile. That was totally awesome! I was cleaning out my little container that I had put all of my vintage stuff in from Michael's - Making Memories. And I came across this heart, and knew it was perfect for this!!!

I wanted to do more on this card, but I just couldn't get my mojo going at 1am last night! LOL! But I really wanted to showcase this set of digital paper, because it's just so gorgeous! And the nice thing about digital paper is that once you download it, you have it forever! Sheet after sheet after sheet! You never run out!

AiFactory is having a Cyber Monday sale that continues through Dec. 5th!!!!!!! So, head on over there and check things out!
EVERYTHING IN THE STORE IS 50% OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not seen a deal this good, even on Black Friday!!!!

Now you need to check out what the other girls on the team have created w/ digital paper! Then YOU need to create something and post it on your blog! Come over to the AiFactory Challenge blog and leave a comment! Some lucky winner will receive a set of digital paper of their choice for free!!!! But, this sale is perfect because you can go over and get some paper for half off, and then once you fall in love with it, and create something beautiful, you could win another set for free!!!! MFTeaser Day 3!

Well MFT'ers, we are back w/ a 4th brand new set! This is called Heart Stripes, and is part of the Pure Innocence line.

I'm in a chocolate and pink world and I can't get out of it!!!! But those colors just work! Anyway, did you notice the "buttony bow" on the side? I learned that neat little trick from MFT's very own crafty girl Joanne Basile! It totally snazzes up those boring old bows! I used MFT's Chocolate Kiss paper for the background, and this little cutie is stamped on an MFT Perfect Panel! Oh how nice it was to color her in on this!!!!

Go to Kim's blog for the full list of participants for today!

MFTeasers Day 2!

Hello MFT Junkies! It's another day of teasers!!!!! You're really going to want these sets!!! They were super fun to play with!

The first card features Truffles Flopsey. Isn't Flopsey SO cute with that box of chocolate truffles?! And I used a large truffle from Love At First Sight that was debuted yesterday! See, these sets go hand in hand! You have to have them all! I used a little bit of Chocolate Kiss from MFT to liven the background up a bit. I put a brad in the large truffle to match the ones on Flopsey's panel. I put Crystal Effects on the little truffles as well as the large truffle to make them look more realistic.

The second card feature the Love Machine! When I was looking at the sentiments that go along w/ this romantic robot, I thought it would be cool to add a "female" robot to the card that he would be saying this to. As you can see from the last picture, I made her female by adding wire that I twisted to make "hair". I also added gears as detail to match the MFT dp.

You can see what the rest of the team has done by going to Kim's blog for the complete list!

Vintage Snowman

Hello friends! Today I made a card for the Card Patterns Sketch challenge that is posted every Saturday! You can find their link here: http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/. They have a wonderful design team, and their sketches are just so awesome! I hope to start doing them each and every week! I was doing so well, and then life got in the way! Funny how that happens! LOL!

Anyway, so I decided to tackle their sketch this week. I have to start my Christmas cards, so why not start now! And I had to finish the inside too! Again, it's one of my favorite things to do on a card!

Recipe:
Paper: Figgy Pudding, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, white
Stamps: Pine Trees from Kitchen Sink Stamps; snowman from Fiskars, sentiment from SU!
Ink: Choc. Chip for snowman and sentiment and "aging" around edges; Pine Trees from KSS: 4: Imperial Purple; 3: Handsome Hunter; 2: Cottage Ivy; 1: Bamboo Leaves
Accessories: copper brads, circle and scalloped circle nesties, sparkly brown chipboard swirl.
Have a STAMPTASTIC day!

Paper Cones! What fun!

Hello all! Today I am bragging about paper cone ornaments that I made my stamping buddies for Christmas! I was totally stressing about what to make for them. We had a gift exchange, where we drew names, but I just love my friends, and wanted to give them something sweet so they know that I truly appreciate their friendship!

I found this idea on Melissa Phillips' blog. She made a darling cone a few months ago... I originally wanted to make a 3-D tree from Kitchen Sink Stamps' new set Multi Step Pine Trees, but, after making 1, I knew it wasn't going to work. So, then I moved on to etching on the glass ornaments that I have been hoarding. Well, after that dried, I found that my images couldn't be detected. I used a bad stamp for stamping on glass. DUH! So, I sat here at my desk and just thought about some different ideas. Then I remembered Melissa Phillips showing paper cones (when you click on paper cones it will take you to her particular blog post where she featueres these said cones. Scroll down a bit to find the picture of them!), and really wanted to try something. Well, apparently I was meant to make these, because they turned out SO cute!

I, of course, went vintage. Big shocker there! LOL! But, really, aren't paper cones vintage anyway?! So, it works! The thing to remember though is, that when choosing paper for your cone, CHOOSE THIN PAPER! Thick paper likes to unwind and not want to be glued at a weird angle! God forbid! I searched for a template, because I couldn't figure out how to make one. I found one, and adapted it to what I needed to do, and went from there! Easy peasy! I will be posting a tutorial on it over at the AiFactory network tomorrow, so you can see how easy it is! And if you're a member of my family, you may not want to take a peek, because you could be getting one this year! LOL!

I would like to thank Melissa Phillips for the ongoing inspiration! Thank you for your wonderful ideas!

Vintage Christmas Joy

Hi there! Today I am showcasing Christmas Joy from Crafty Secrets! You can purchase Crafty Secrets goodies at the ABC Store! I really really love this set!

I am also using the background music score from Nina Brackett's Vintage Borders set from Gina K. Designs. When I saw this, I HAD TO HAVE IT! This is just perfect for something like this!

The ornament was stamped in craft white, and then embossed w/ Kaleidescope e.p.! LOVE that stuff! It gives it a nice rainbow kind of sparkle!

Another blog award!!!!

My sweet friend Kerry, who I am on the AiFactory design team with, sent this to me! Thanks Kerry!
And, there's a little questionnaire....

  • when I'm not crafting...I am taking kids to school, or reading, or cooking
  • I love traveling... to the beach!
  • I love watching Food network (it's a channel everything about food)... and seeing what people prepare so I can get ideas. Yeah, like I ever use them! LOL!
  • Always trying to figure out, how am I going to find a $$$ tree or win the lottery...well, like I like to say, you have to play to win the lotto! I don't know where the money comes from. I do clean my dad's office to make some money, and DH gives me his tip money from Starbucks. So, that's how I make my money!

So, that's it! Cute little survey! Thanks Kerry!

Well, I'm giving this award to ALL of my readers! Take it and do the survey and leave a comment so I can come and learn a little about you!

    Have a great day!
    Hugs!

AiFactory Challenge 12: Use Chipboard!

Hello there AiFactory fans! Today's Tuesday and you know what that means! Another challenge brought to you by the lovely team of AiFactory! Whoo hoo! This week we are working w/ chipboard! Any kind of chipboard, any way you want to use it! And any image too! Doesn't matter! And what can you win?! Well, a MONTH FREE FOR KIT CLUB! How cool is that?! WAY COOL! Because there's always a bunch of sets in each kit!

So, go and make your chipboard project and link it back to the challenge blog here: http://aifactorychallenges.blogspot.com/

This candle was SO cool to make! I taped a sheet of tissue paper to a plain old piece of typing paper. I put it in my printer, resized my wings, and printed the wings directly onto the tissue paper! If you tape your tissue paper onto the typing paper, then your image will print perfectly! The tissue paper won't get all messed up in your printer! Talk about a nightmare that would be! LOL! Anyway, then I took my tissue paper, and cut it to the size I needed to fit onto the candle. I then placed the tissue paper on the candle and positioned it, and then turned on the heat! Heat gun, that is! I melted the tissue paper into the wax of the candle! Kind of like a tattoo for your candles! I added sticker pearls for the body, as well as the chipboard "E". The chipboard "E" is from a chipboard alphabet that I am hoarding! I inked it in Brilliance Graphite Black, and didn't ink up the entire thing, just parts of it. I adhered the "E" to the candle using glue dots.
Go and see what my fellow team members have created!

Wedding cards and sketch challenges!

Hello there! I have been busy making cards for several different things. This first card is a wedding card that I made for my sister. She was the maid of honor for her friend's wedding, and wanted a special card. The wedding colors were lavender and gray. So, I made the card the same colors! I added purple stickles for the flowers in the bouquet and in her hair to add a little sparkle.

Here you can see the stickles.

I made an envelope to match.

I made this card based on the previous card! The bride and groom stamp inspired me to make another card! This card was also made for the Card Patterns sketch challenge this week!

This card was made for Jen del Muro's SFYTT for this week!
