Stamp Club swap card

My demonstrator asked me to create a few swap cards to give out at our first annual Creative Juices Stamp Club! I wanted to use a current stamp set, but it seems like everything else is retired. There's just no way I could be a demonstrator! I love to use all of my retired stamps!

Anwyay, so I created this card. It's based on this past week's sketch challenge. I used Choc. Chip, Rose Red, and Sky Blue. I came up w/ this color scheme myself. The stamp set is Wanted. The sentiment is from All Year Cheer. The two other panels are cuttlebugged. The base panel is stamped w/ Paisly background stamp. (retired). The ribbon is brown organdy found in the sewing section of JoAnn's! Go figure!

So, I only have to make 6, so that's what I'm finishing up on today. I worked all afternoon yesterday at my friend's crop that she holds at a local school every couple months or so. The $10.00 fee goes towards our pizza and the rest is going towards a Cricut that will go to the school and we can use it for our crops! Nice little incentive! My first Christmas card of the year!

My sister emailed me last week and asked if I would make her about 15 Christmas cards and that would be her Christmas gift from my family to her. So, I have been thinking on and off over the past week of how I could make something really nice for her that would not be embarrassing to send out to her friends. Well, I think I came up w/ it! I have been seeing on Splitcoast this leaf type punch by Martha Stewart. I had to get to Michael's this week anyway, so while I was there, I found it and grabbed one! I LOVE THIS PUNCH!!!! Now, I have only used it once so far, but I see HUGE potential in this little baby! I can't wait to try it out again!

Anyway, on to the card! The layout in my head isn't the same as what you're seeing. I didn't have a small enough Christmas greeting to do what I wanted to do. But, I like this as it is, so it worked out in the end! And I'm always one for improvising!

To make this card, I used Real Red, Whisper White, and Wild Wasabi paper. To make the green sparkle, I versamarked a space of Wasabi and then sprinkled, ok, poured Kaleidoscope embossing powder over it and heated. The greeting is from a stamp God knows where I got it. I used my scallop oval nestibilities and oval nest. which you can purchase HERE. I punched the berries w/ Real Red and the smallest circle punch by SU!. I used the snowflake cuttlebug folder, and silver ribbon. Very easy! Well, if you have the tools! But, this card can be changed up and enhanced!

I just love this card! I'm keeping this one for myself! I love it so much! And I don't usually get on soapbox about my stuff. I like everything that I post on here, or else it won't get posted. But, this card is just amazing to me!

12 x 12 box of cards!

I made this box for the cards I am sending to hopefully impress a store owner to sell in her store. I am always trying to find ways to make boxes and I just thought of this as a different and unique way to present a set of cards.

I used SU! retired Berry Bliss 12 x 12 paper, 2 sheets. I scored, leaving 5 inches in the front and back for the cards to fit easily into. I went through 4 sheets of paper before I got it right. That darn old sticky strip! It's a total love-hate relationship! But, I prevailed and won the battle!

I used a retired flower punch for the flowers adorning the top lip of the front. I dabbed a dot of Crystal Effects to each of the middles and the middles of the big flowers on the front, and the sprinkled Marth Stewart glitter and let dry. The big flowers on the front are from Delight in Life. I thought they looked similar to the flowers on the dp. (You can see the sides of the box to see the resemblance. I added brown organdy ribbon, which is my new favorite ribbon by the way! And wha la! Complete! Now it's ready to send!!!

Baby Boy sketch card

I just can't put away the Special Delivery Boy kit! The more I use it, the more ideas I get!

So, today's card is based on the sketch challenge on SCS. I changed it up a bit. I didn't need to do any stamping, which is always nice to take a break from. And I love to add little details. I wish I could have added more, but then it would have been over the top. This is fine. I will definitely be using this sketch again! It was very easy to lay out the card. I always love Wednesdays because the sketches are really awesome!

Anyway, I used the same stuff I used in the last two cards! The only difference is that I used both SU! star punches, and some hodgepodge hardware.

Another baby boy card!

Baby Boy card

My husband has been on me for quite a while to make a baby card for his fellow coaching buddy who's wife had a baby fairly recently. I always forgot. Until today! I found my Baby Boy pack from the last Stampin' Up! catalog that I had purchased to make some baby cards for a church basket at the beginning of the summer. And all this time, that paper pack was sitting, unused. I love this paper pack! It's awesome! The stickers are perfect, and if you know me well, you know I hate to use stickers on a card! But, these stickers are perfect and go so well w/ the paper!

Anyway, so here's the card that I came up with. Last year on my rainy trip to Archiver's in OH, I found nice long envelopes. I chose to use one today. So, this card is extra long!

Decorative Bookmark!

Today's challenge on SCS is to "mark your spot" in your current book, that is! So, we were to make a bookmark, but had to follow instructions to make a certain kind. Ok, well, I think I followed directions. Not sure though!

I decided to use some new paper that my friend Karolyn (garkarlon on SCS) sent to me for being a winner in one of her challenges for a mini VSN. Thank you again, Karolyn!!! The paper and accessories are fantastic!!!!

I folded the paper to make a point and then just kind of added some decorative detail to enhance the beauty of this bookmark! Isn't it beautiful?! I can't wait to get to the library to get more books so I can use this!!!

Fall Swap!

Whenever we have our swap meetings, I always like to give the girls something extra to thank them for participating in my swap. The first time we met, I decorated water bottles. The last time we met, I cheated a little and just bought little clear dollar stamps, a thing of ribbon and put them in a dollar tin all found at Michael's. This time, I wanted to make something special. I wanted to make a 2-5-7-10 box and decorate it for Halloween. Well, I cut my orange paper wrong, so I had to improvise. It doesn't hold the candy as well as the box would, but whatever!

I made the bag itself out of acetate (transparency). I used Martha Stewart Halloween stamps which can be found at Michael's. And they are on sale! Woo hoo! I used a hole punch to get the ribbon through and attached. The ribbon is SU! black grosgrain. I used two different circle punches and a scallop punch on some.

One of the girls in my swap just recently had a baby. She's having a hard time adjusting and getting back into the swing of things, and she just couldn't finish her swap cards. So, I stepped in and made a set in her place. These were very simple and seriously only took me 2 hours for all 12 cards. Very easy! All the details are on my splitcoast gallery post.

This card was made for the VSN Warm Up! I am participating in the fall VSN over on Splitcoaststampers.com. Click here for all the details! Come and see what it's all about! So much fun! This VSN theme is Cabaret! Now, I have to admit, I had to watch Cabaret clips on YouTube just so I would be a little knowledgeable! I had no idea! Thank God for the internet!

Anyway, the warm up challenge tonight was to make a card based on your favorite songs. Well, I have WAY too many favorites! Just ask my husband who just rearranged all of our cd cases! So, I decided since the theme is anything relating to entertainment, to base my card off of a musical that I watched. I first made a list of a bunch of musicals and plays that I have seen. Then, I tried to match stamp sets to some of the songs in each of the musicals/plays.

Here's my first one. My mom and I went to see Wicked 2 weeks ago, and I absolutely LOVED it! I hope they come out w/ a movie, because I will buy it! Anyway, my favorite song in Wicked is "Popular" when Galinda takes Elphaba and tells her that she can teach her to be popular by showing her how to toss her hair perfectly, have the right shoes, right purse, right accessories and clothes. It's really a cute song! I have it on my blog, so scroll down and click on it and listen!

I made a wheel to go behind the clouds, because I didn't want to show everything that "Galinda" was thinking of for "Elphaba" (I know, she's not green). So, I took pictures of each image that I stamped on the wheel. All of the details for this card can be found here. I am NOT retyping all the colors I used! There's WAY too many!!! And this card isn't even that big! LOL!
