Taking a break

Well, I have officially lost my mojo!  I feel as if I have hit a brick wall!  So, I'm going to step away and take a break from stamping.  I need to get into a routine w/ school and preschool, and get my life in order before I tackle my little roadblock w/ my favorite hobby!  I think that part of my problem is that I have SO MUCH STUFF, I don't know where to start, and what to do!  I'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

So, to all of my followers, thank you for signing up to be a follower!  And I'll be back shortly!

Thanks!

MFT week!

Well, MFT is having their September Release tomorrow night, Sept. 1st at 8pm on the Splitcoast thread.  There are TONS of awesome sets and dies that will go live at 10pm!!!!  I just had to share!!!!!

Anyway, so this week is also the Guest Designer challenge as well as Wednesday Stamp Club, or WSC!  The WSC challenge this week is floral!  Make anything w/ the MFT stamps that you have at your disposal and put flowers on it!  Here's my interpretation!

This card uses the Owls & Bluebells set!  I used Cottage Wall dp (retired SU!), Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive c/s.  Copics for coloring in.

Then, for the Guest Designer challenge, we were challenged to used the Clearly Sentimental About... stamps as the main focal point on a card.  Which, that is hard to do when you think about it!  Your usual main image has to drop back into the background so your sentiment shines!  Well, I kind of did it?!  I'm trying to get into that same style that so many are adapting to.  And without TONS of embellishments in which to choose from, the pickins' are small!!!!  So, I had to make do and make it my own!

All paper here is from Basic Grey.  I used Porcelain and Basic Manilla.  The stamps w/ the champagne glasses are from the Happy Occasions set and the sentiment is from Clearly Sentimental about Happiness (that is what I'm calling it!)  It was a free set when you purchased over $100.00 at CHA!  The ribbon is from the Chocolate Kiss ribbon nest (MFT), and that cube type ribbon is also from MFT, but I can't remember what ribbon nest it's part of!  Sorry!  And see that manilla piece of paper that looks like notebook paper?  Well, if you got the August VIP, then you got the Spiral Notebook die!!!! YAY!!!  This die is going to be SO cool and get used SOOO much!  It's WAY better than the SU! one!  Oh, and that little clear heart button?  I got that from SU!!  Perfect adornment!

Ok, I'm outta here!  Enjoy!
Have a STAMPTASTIC day!!!!

A Fall Recipe Box

Hi there!  Sorry I've been MIA for a while.  We went on vacation, and I just needed to get some things done before school started!  My oldest started kindergarten last week, so that is the excitement of late!

Anyway, so I wanted to buy something special for one of my stamping friends for her birthday, but I never got a chance to.  So, I asked if there was something that I could make her, and she said a recipe box!  She said that her colors were reds and browns in her kitchen, and that she loved those colors.  So, I decided to go w/ a fall theme.  I gave it to her this weekend, and she LOVED it!!!!  I'm so glad!!!

This is the front view of the box.  I went a little vintage on the front, using some Crafty Secrets paper and sequins.  Note:  The leaves and pumpkins and word RECIPE are from Kitchen Sink Stamps!

Here's a close up of the inside.  These stamps are from Fiskars Recipe Madness, found at JoAnn's!  I used the Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches from Stampin' Up!

Have a STAMPTASTIC day!!!

A Hallmark Challenge

Hi all!  The card featured below was made especially for a challenge that Hallmark is holding until August 22nd, 2010.  The challenge is to create a teenager birthday card, and if you win, you will get your card printed and delivered to ALL Hallmarks!  How cool is that?!  So, of course I HAD to submit one!!!!!

This card started out as a girl card, but ended up as a boy card.  The reds and grays clearly changed the look of the card.  I LOVE how it turned out though!  Vain, I know!  LOL!  This was definitely NOT the picture I had in my head!  I love when that happens!  It keeps me on my crafty toes!

Paper is from The Homework Stack (DCWV), red from SU!, white.  The car is from MFT's Cruising Cosmo Girl.  I used lots of copics to get a shaded look.  I kept picturing Cindy Lawrence's bear and tried to blend so it looks real!  What do you think?  Did I achieve that look?

Here's a close up of the car!

Have a STAMPTASTIC day!!!

August cards

So, this month has been crazy.  Well, the whole summer has been crazy!  I feel like the summer has just flown!  And now it's almost time for school to start!  I'm looking forward to school starting though!  I love the beginning and end of school!  Like in You've Got Mail, where he writes in his email about the smell of freshly sharpened pencils!  I love that smell!  LOL!

Anyway, so, before I go on a little break, I wanted to share a few cards that I made today!  Well, one I made a few weeks ago, but I'm showing you now!

This first card I made today is for the WSC MFT challenge!  CUPCAKES!  Yum!  When my friends and I were in Chicago, my friends actually went to Sprinkles and bought cupcakes!  How cool is that?!

The stamp set used is Lovin' From the Oven by MFT!  The sentiment is from Clearly Sentimental about Cooking also by MFT.  The designer paper is from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry.

The next card was actually made a few weeks ago, but am just now finding the time to post!
I love the flapper era, I think it's a really cool time in America!  (I love history!).  So, when MFT came out with Flapper Doodles, I just fell in LOVE!!!!  I'm NOT a fan of the Pure Innocence line, but ADORE the Flapper Doodles!  Sorry KIM!!!!!!!

The designer paper is from Le Romantique by Graphic 45.

The next card will be in the next post.

My sister's wedding!

Here's a picture from my sister's wedding this past weekend!  I'll be back with all the stuff I did for her wedding.

I'm right here  ^

My daughter Olivia was the flower girl.  When my 6 yr. old son, who was one of the ring bearers, saw Olivia w/ her halo of flowers, he told her she looked like the Statue of Liberty!  LOL!

Have a great day!

Dirty Dozen cards

Well, I finally have my camera cord back after leaving it at my sister's a few weeks ago.  So, I can finally update my cards!  I've been busy with gift certificates, thank you's for my sister's wedding, and then this week was the Dare to Get Dirty challenges over on Splitcoast!  Become a fan club member and you too can participate!

Since you have to be in the fan club to know what the challenges are, I'm just going to post my cards.  I can't tell you about the challenges!  Fan club members only!

Anniversary card

This card was made for two reasons: An anniversary card for my dad to give to my mom for their anniversary tomorrow, and also for the MFT WSC this week.  3 different types of ribbon.  Hope this qualifies!  I used hemp twine as my top layer.

Chocolate recipe box

This is a Chocolate recipe box that I intend to sell.  I wanted to do something w/ chocolate, and this turned out completely different than how I envisioned it in my head!  I love when that happens!
