Crafty Secrets Witchy Treats!

Hello my crafty friends! It's another week of Crafty Secrets goodness! And a treat! I am getting my Halloween treats together for this whirlwind weekend starting today (Thursday) and ending Sat. night! It actually started last night w/ our town's Halloween Parade. Oh my there were some cool costumes! Two girls dressed up like they were on a roller coaster! And every so often, they would bend over and bend back screaming like they were really on the ride! What imagination!!!!! Someone else was actually dressed up as a door! Ok! My kids dressed up as a knight, a princess and a dragon. We even decorated the stroller! I had (paper)fire coming out of the front window, however, weather doused those flames! I'll post pictures on Friday before Trick or Treating!

Ok, back to my project! So, if you follow my blog, you know that I post something for ABC Toys and Crafts every Thursday. Well, in preparing for Thursday's craft of the week, I thought and thought about what I could do. I'm tired of making cards all the time. People need to see other stuff! And my husband had purchased a whole tub of Double Bubble Bubble Gum for my cousin for her Halloween treat. Well, she's only 8, there's no way she's eating a whole tub of bubble gum! Plus w/ all the other candy she's going to get! So, I decided to make a treat box for her and just give her a PORTION of the bubble gum! Then, I get to keep the rest! LOL!

So, I made a 2-5-7-10 box out of acetate and decorated it. The image of the little witch is from Halloween Fun by Crafty Secrets. As well as the spider web. Can you see it? I used StazOn for that, and I think my pad is drying out. :( The top of the box features two Marth Stewart punches that you can find in the ABC Toys and Crafts store, along w/ Halloween Fun; the spider web and bat punches! They are awesome! And what's so cool about the spider web punch is that Martha came out w/ a corner punch to complete the look! How nifty is that?!

Well, now that I have inspired you to go to ABC Toys and Crafts to get those punches: www.abctoysandcrafts.net you better get over there!!!!!

Have a happy and safe Halloween my friends!

Bee and Flower by Softpencil!

Hi there! Today I am showcasing Softpencil's Bee and Flower digital image! Isn't it sweet?! We are having a challenge this week to work w/ this image along w/ a sketch! Fun fun fun! Would you like to participate? Click on this link to read all about it http://aifactorychallenges.blogspot.com and join in the fun!!!! We ALWAYS give stamps away! Wouldn't you like to win some free stamps?!

I kind of didn't do the sketch for this challenge! My pretty bow took up too much room! LOL! I usually end up having to make my bows upside down, because when doing them right side up, they end up upside down! I know, I'm sure you're confused! ANYWAY, I wanted to try the buttony bow that Joanne Basile has a tutorial on, on her blog. I think it turned out pretty cool!

The white panel is supposed to be clouds. Do you get it?!

All right, that's about it! Oh, we (AiFactory) have new kits that you can get for free if you become a club member! Club Membership: $5.00! Go check it out HERE!

And, I am selling Stampin' Up! stamps, so scroll down to my list to see if there are any that appeal to you!

The elegance of Cinderella

Hello there! This week's MFT challenge is the waltz and to make something elegant. Well, I'm not a real elegant stamper. At least in my opinion. So I really was going to sit this one out. And then I got started w/ the WTG (Who's That Girl) from Tote-ally Fantastic and failed to create something wonderful! And then my friend Kelli gave me an idea, and after I was looking for some sentiments, I completed my fabulous idea!

You can read all about it, and all the ingredients here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1522157?&cat=500&ppuser=149786

The first picture is the whole 6x6 scrapbook page. All of that wouldn't fit on a card, and really, who the heck would I give it to?! LOL! And the second picture is a closeup of those famous glass slippers. I just stamped them on acetate to make them "glass", plus I had to turn them around because the stamp is actually facing the other way! Hey, I'm all about versatility!

PS: I'm selling TONS of SU! stamps! Go to the post below this one and check it out! I really want to get rid of them!

Enjoy!
Have a STAMPTASTIC day! :)

Disco Diva-licious!

I had so much fun w/ this week's So You Think You Can Stamp challenge: DISCO! I went my usual over the top, but how could I NOT???!!!!!! I started w/ Party Girl (from MFT) and my disco floor that I made myself using Copics! Justine, what do you think of my floor???!!! She and I are always talking about shading w/ Copics and what a hard time we have w/ that technique! LOL! Anyway, then I was going to make a card and be like everyone else, and then I decided to make a box, and this is what happened! I got so far yesterday and then I just had to walk away. I couldn't figure out what to do w/ the bottom. Then, I sat down after dinner tonight and figured it out! Of course, you can't see it very well, but I have a psychodelic (sp?) sign on the bottom. Maybe if you can click on the photo and look closer, you can see it! I "stole" the idea from something that I saw when I googled images for Disco signs. Isn't the internet amazing???!!!!!

I used a fake sugared berry for my disco ball. I had to have a real ball. Unfortunately, it's not silver like I liked, but whatever. I attached it to a paper clip and let it hang from the top. I rolled the berry in versarmark and then poured Kaleidoscope e.p. over it and heated it. Then I poured Dazzling Diamonds over it while it was still hot to kind of adhere it. It is more sparkly than it was! LOL!

I have Ms. Party Girl freestanding w/ the help of a paperclip! Boy do those come in handy!!!! I have it behind her flailing arm!

I put buttons down the sides to act as lights. I don't know if it really works, but the walls were boring!!! I had to put SOMETHING there!

The light covers on the bottom are metal sheets punched out and run through the xyron. I poured microbeads over the sticky sides, and adhered to the stage. I also put Christmas tree lights up through the stage floor so the stage would be lit up!

The disco floor is my absolute FAVORITE part of this whole project! It looks just like that floor from that John Travolta movie! I think! I could be thinking of Pulp Fiction (terrible movie!).... Anyway, wherever it's from, when I think of disco, I think of this floor! I colored it w/ Copics and then put Crystal Effects all over it to make it shiny.

The next favorite thing of mine is my sign on the bottom! Disco Diva! I used "Groovy Letters" stencils to make that!

This was a very fun projec to work on! This will go on my bookshelf along w/ all of my other 3-D items that I have created over the years!

Have a STAMPTASTIC day!!!

Christmas in PA

Hi there! Today I am showcasing Sweet Kids from Crafty Secrets! I am really liking this set! I participated in the Crafty Secrets weekly challenge on SCS this week, which was to use the resist technique! FUN! I haven't done this technique in a while, so it was nice to go back to an oldie, but goodie! I embossed snowflakes from Itty Bitty Backgrounds w/ Kaleidoscope e.p. and then sponged the whole panel w/ Going Gray. It really resembled the winter skies here in SW PA, thus the title for this post!

I colored this little guy w/ Copics, dabbed a little paint on the trees for snow, and there you go! The paper is Ridinghood Red and white.

Sweetpea Fairies for AiFactory!

Hello there! Today I am showing you a sweet little fairy from Sweetpea Fairies from AiFactory! This little girl is digital, and I made her a little big! Ooops! Oh well. Our challenge (for the DT), was to follow a sketch as well as use this set or Bin N Bon studio's wings.

So, anyway, here's my submission! Not my usual fancy type card. I just was exhausted tonight! Too many things going on at once!!!

If you would like to participate in our challenge, where you have the opportunity to win free stamps!, come to this website: http://aifactorychallenges.blogspot.com/

To My Favorite Bookworm!

Hello there fellow booklovers! Or not? I love to read! I'm in a book club, and go to the library often, either for myself to get romances or for my kids to get them new books! I have successfully passed on my love for reading on to my children! Yes! I did something right! LOL!

This was made for the first challenge for My Favorite Things So You Think You Can Stamp? based on the well known dance show w/ the same title. This first week, we (MFT Junkies) were challenged to make a project that lifts, flips and spins based on the dance of the West Coast Swing. Well, I had never heard of that particular dance before, so I went on YouTube and watched some episodes. It's not a big deal type dance. Mainly everyone in the world dances like this and doesn't even know it! LOL!

So, for my project, I decided that I would do a bookworm and apple since I have these stamp sets and really, this is just what came to me as I was sketching out some ideas.

The "Flip" occurs first, as you flip open the worm and the apple to open it up! (Pictures 2 to 3). Then you get the "Spin" when you spin through his thoughts as he reads his book! (Pictures 4 to 8) And lastly, you "Lift" the flap on the right side to show the library card! (Pictures 9 & 10).

And that's it! I, of course, went a little crazy. I just don't know how to tone down my "out of the box" ideas! Oh well! Everyone creates differently!

A Recipe Box in Bloom!

Hello there! Today I am showcasing my latest recipe box! I made this for my aunt, who celebrated her 50th birthday last week! She loved the one that I made earlier this summer, and I told her that I would make her one for her birthday. Her kitchen is black and white, and she has a portrait of a red poppy for color. She used to be an interior designer, so she's hip and cool! And I wanted her recipe box to fit in w/ her style. Well, I got my mother's approval (her sister), so I'm guessing it's ok!

And I can't just make a recipe box! I have to make recipe cards, which were all done on the computer! I also made a set of cards (last picture), as well as a tag (her birthday card) that can also be used as a bookmark. I was going to have a perforated edge, but I realized that I don't own any tool that gives a perforation! Darn it! So, I just wrote on the back of the tag.

Well, that's it for this post!
Have a STAMPTASTIC day! :)

Ivan and a masculine card!

Hello everyone! Today I am LATE in showing you my own challenge card for AiFactory! It's been a crazy week! And I also am blaming a lack of mojo! I have such a hard time making man/boy cards! I'm not even too wild about this one, but it works, and I don't have time to change it!

This is Ivan from AiFactory! Mia, the owner, is busy creating more things for Ivan to do! This is the first Ivan that she created. He's supposed to have ice skates on, but I cut them off. They just weren't working for me! She has since created other poses for Ivan. Go and check it out HERE!

The challenge this week was to make a masculine card and use Ivan and use hardware and no ribbon. So, I used brads as my hardware. The sentiment is from Let's Hear It For the Boys from MFT. The paper is from a retired collection from SU! called Tailor Made. I LOVE IT!!!! I've been wanting to use it, and thought this would be perfect!

You can participate in our challenge too! Just go to the challenge blog HERE!

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!!!

World Card Making Day and a few other things....

MFT's World Card Making Day challenge: use pink, black and white

Stamping Around Group Hop challenge: make a tag &/or make a scene on a card. I combined both!

This was for a swap I was involved in: Make cards w/ sweet stuff on them!

This was for a Think Pink swap. Bra from Gina K. Designs, sentiment from Twisted Two by MFT.

Yesterday was World Card Making Day! Did you participate? I only participated in two of them. Yesterday was a frustrating day for me. Every idea I started out with just didn't work! I finally finished my two cards last night after everyone had gone to bed. And I turned my computer off! LOL! What a distraction!!!!

Anyway, they are done, and I had fun once I got my mojo going! The other two cards were part of sets that I did last weekend while stamping w/ my friends. I made 12 altogether. 6 per swap. Once I got an assembly line going, it was easy to get them cranked out!

Have a great day!
Happy Stamping!!!
